No one at John Tierra Properties is a lawyer, so we were surprised to learn that there is a requirement to specifically state we believe your personal information belongs to you and that we promise to be good stewards of the information in which you entrust us! We searched around a little and saw that a lot of folks refer to privacy as a “fundamental right”, but there doesn’t really seem to be satisfactory definitions for “fundamental rights”. We saw that some describe it as it is defined by the UN and others by the Supreme Court… Again, not being lawyers, we were surprised to discover that something as simple as privacy has become such a complicated issue. We naively thought that privacy simply fell under the Golden Rule (So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you) and THAT is what we aim to do – treat your information like we treat ours. We don’t want anyone to know more about us than they absolutely have to know and we want them to be REALLY careful with the information given.
